Yin yoga works largely on the pelvis, hips and spine. Most postures are seated, and we hold them for around five minutes. It is suitable for almost all levels of students.
While initially this style of yoga can seem quite passive or soft (even boring), there’s a deeply satisfying challenge in holding the pose.
Yin yoga is a slow and stilling practice, it targets the deeper connective tissues – the ligaments, bones and joints – which aren’t normally exercised as much in more active styles of yoga.
